Business Card Lesson Plans

Business cards are used throughout the world to quickly introduce a person, establish their role in an organization, or make a creative statement. In this series of desktop publishing lesson plans students create business cards for themselves or for historical figures or fictional characters.

What title best describes someone like Benjamin Franklin? Would Don Quixote have a simple, dignified business card or something more flamboyant or unusual?

Two Desktop Publishing Business Card Lesson Plans
Lesson 1 has the student writing and designing their own business card.

In Lesson 2 the student must create the business card for an historical or fictional figure (assigned by the teacher or of their own choosing).

Lessons can be applied to a variety of ages and subject areas including Language Arts, History, and Social Studies. Why this format? In addition to being fun and different for the student, business cards are a universal greeting card in the business world and many other areas of life. Early familiarity with their use can help students beyond the school years.
