Personalize the grid

Red letter years for me: 1958, 1977, 1987...

You can personalize your collection any way you desire. You might want to highlight specific years of your collection, such as the year you were born or the year you graduated high school or college. In this example I've changed the color of the year to red for dates that are significant to me.

Other ways you might personalize the grid are by changing the color or shape of the boxes or adding appropriate pieces of clip art in the title area or in individual squares. Keep in mind that whatever you put in the boxes may be partially obscured when you add a coin to the box. A nickel will cover most of the area of a 1" square. For my own grid I place the nickels off-center and extending slightly outside the upper left corner of the boxes.

Another design option is to place a large graphic covering the entire page (such as a picture of rolls or piles of coins) with semi-transparent boxes on top to aid in placement of your individual coins.

If your printer will accommodate larger paper, increase the margins and increase the size of the squares slightly. This will provide more room for personalization with text and graphics. You could even try a folded design, decorating the "cover" with your name, facts about nickels or coin collecting, or photos of your choosing.
